The trend in society, not just in technology, is to defy labels. Social networking, blogging, and microblogging are converging, but still remain distinctive. Elsewhere in society, we're seeing Goths, Punks, Vamps, Emos, and even countless variations and combinations.

We are becoming free to do whatever we'd like, as long as we don't infringe on others. Want to put out a steady stream of updates about your trip to Arby's? Facebook, Twitter, and more can oblige you. Want to write 30 pages on Randian feminism? There are plenty of free blogging sites and niche publications that will take your entry.

Someone can interact with whatever content in pretty much whatever medium they choose, just like they can create nearly any personal identity they may want.

We will continue to see a proliferation of content in subtle variations in 2011 and beyond.
